Research Report Information!
Are you ready to work on a research report?
Please choose one of the following as your subject:
Balboa Caribbean pirates Rulers of Spain in 1492
Sir John Hawkins Ponce de Leon Coronado
Pizarro Sir Frances Drake The role of religion
Spanish Armada Effects on Native Americans until 1600 Navigation over time
sailing ships Role of Women The “Grand Exchange”
You will need to produce a report of sufficient quantity to fully answer the focus question that you have decided upon. (No, I'm not going to tell you specifically how long that is!) Please remember that a good question makes a good report. Your job is not to summarize history, but instead to analyze and interpret the history in a manner never before found on this planet. I will be talking with you about your proposed focus question next Tuesday. You must include an annotated bibliography with at least five notations.
Also, please create three hand-drawn maps that help in explaining your report. Each map must have a key, colors, and lines of latitude and longitude.
Furthermore, please create two pictures or illustrations. Note the word is create, not cut out or copy.
You will teach the class for ten minutes about the content of your report. You need to turn in an outline of your lesson plan and detail the activities that your students will be doing to reinforce the education that you are providing them with. The materials needed for these activities may be created after you have turned in your report, but you must turn in the lesson plan with the report.
Also, your fascinating instruction will serve as a focus for questions in completing our simulation. In Phase Two, movement is made by answering questions correctly. Therefore, you also need to turn in five questions which will be asked for Galleons. These should be objective (only one correct answer that can't be argued about) and should be included in your instruction of the class.
All of this is due on Monday, December 7. I will not be giving you as much homework so that you will have sufficient time to do the high quality work that you expect of yourselves. You will, however, have some writing assignments that tie in with our simulation, as well as the Yahara submissions. You will have some time in school to work on this when you normally do Wordly Wise and on the Monday after you devour turkey. On December 2, I will be checking to see that you have at least forty note cards (or the electronic equivalent) about your topic.
