The Gods Demanded a Sacrifice

There was rain, now there is drought. We had to give the sacrifice of a jaguar, we also had to give up the life of a young boy. The boy was our finest, he often complied to what was asked of him.

Since there has been a drought for the past year, our food stock has not been replete.  Our hunger has not been satiated in a long time. Our crops are drying up, there is little corn to eat. We have only a miniscule amount of food. All of the animals are also hungry, therefore causing a bad hunting season. Only Nobles could eat meat, the rest of us had to eat the little crops that were left. Many died of hunger.

The sacrifice is finally happening, we first sacrificed the jaguar. Next came the fifteen year old boy. Many were shocked some made expletives in their heads, not sure of whether or not they wanted to stop the ceremony. We now have rain, we can hunt easier, we have many more crops, and our people will not starve.
