The Spread of Buddhism

In the sixth century A.D., Prince Shotoku, who followed Shinto, was impressed with Buddha's teachings when the Korean leader sent him scriptures. Shotoku encouraged all of the citizens to follow Buddhism too. Thus, Japan had started believing in Buddhism.
