| Heisei Schools | ||||||||||||||||
| Heisei schools are the modern schools of today.
They have good and bad
points. Good Points *They teach the kids how to fit into a tough Japanese lifestyle. *They teach more about learning than memorizing skills. *Girls and boys are in school Bad Points *They cause a lot of stress in students. *They dont allow the kids to be individualists, only uniform robots who produce for the country. *They basically take away the right of the kids to be kids, |

| Meiji schools started when Emperor Meiji took
over. He started a new wave of opening up to the world, and expecially the
western world. They took a lot of things including schools and teaching
from the westerners. Like Heisei schools, there are many good and bad
points.
Good Points *These schools didnt invoke as much stress apon the students. *It helped the students to understand the world better. Bad Points *Only a select few people could be students. (Royalty and rich peopls sons) *The schools were more towards teaching boys than girls. *It didn't teach the kids how to fit into the society or life skills as well. |

| Overall I think that the Heisei schools are better for learning to be a citized and meiji allow the kids to have a life, so neither is really better than the other | ||||||||||||||||
| Using the schools as a "mirror" it is cleary shown that in the Meiji period, Japan was opening up to the western world with everything, and the schools were no exception. While in the Heisei period, is more concerned about teaching the kids how to fit into society that they have almost abandoned the western like ways and this make for a more hectic lifestyle. In the Meiji period their life style wasn't as bad because there weren't so many people crammed into a tini place. But nowadays, I think the schools secretly are trying to teach the kids how to put up with hard issues, because they will face a lot of them in the busy cities. | ||||||||||||||||
